KRQE News 13 Special Assignment/Investigative Reporter

Katie Kim Archive

Katie Kim joined the KRQE team in October 2010 and has loved calling the Land of Enchantment home.

Katie is a part of KRQE News 13’s Investigative Team. As an Emmy-nominated On Special Assignment reporter, she asks the tough, uncomfortable questions that those in power often don’t want to answer. Katie was also the station’s political reporter and covered New Mexico’s statehouse for many legislative sessions.

Before moving to New Mexico, Katie was a multi-media journalist at WILX in Lansing, Michigan. The Southern California native braved her first “real” winter in the Midwest, while covering devastating storms, chasing politicians, and reporting on the struggling auto industry.

Katie graduated from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles with degrees in broadcast journalism and art history. She is a member of the USC Alumni Club of New Mexico, the Asian American Journalists Association, and Investigative Reporters and Editors.

In her spare time, Katie loves to snowboard, hike, discover new restaurants, travel, read, watch sports, volunteer at UNM Hospital’s Child Life Department, spend time with family and friends.
