KRQE News 13 Anchor Dick Knipfing

Dick Knipfing’s broadcasting career spans 51 years — all of which he has spent in New Mexico. Now a senior anchor at KRQE News 13, Knipfing has served as a reporter, anchor, and news director. He has worked at all three major Albuquerque television stations. His return to KRQE brings Knipfing full circle. His TV news career began at the same station in 1963, when he was hired as a reporter-photographer at Channel 13 (then called KGGM-TV).

Throughout his broadcast career, Knipfing has received numerous awards for his writing and reporting abilities. In October 2013, Knipfing was inducted into the prestigious Golden Circle Society sponsored by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, which also presents the Emmy awards.

Dick is married to Charlene Armijo of Albuquerque. They have two children, three grandchildren, and a great grandchild. His hobbies include playing basketball.
