Santa Fe asks for input on possible ranked-choice voting ballots

SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – As Santa Fe gears up for its first ranked-choice voting election, the city is asking for the public’s feedback on what the ballots should look like.

The city has posted two possible layouts on its Facebook page, and anyone can weigh in through Wednesday at noon.

Santa Fe voters opted to rank candidates in order of preference years ago, as soon as the equipment became available to do it.

A judge recently ordered the city to start using it on the March 2018 ballot. The idea is to avoid costly runoff elections.
