NM lawmakers ask Air Force to restore ‘Tacos’ flying mission

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – New Mexico’s congressional delegation is asking the Air Force to restore the “Tacos” flying mission.

They have drafted a letter to Air Force Secretary Heather Wilson asking that the Air Force transfer their Pave Hawk Helicopters to the New Mexico National Guard.

This would not only fix the shortage of flight instructors, but would allow the “Tacos” to operate their own flying mission for the first time since 2010.

The “Tacos” have operated as part of the Special Operations wing the last few years.
