DURANGO, Colo. (KRQE) – The cost of caring for the more than 100 animals seized from a woman in La Plata County is adding up.
According to the Durango Herald, the La Plata Humane Society has spent nearly $70,000 caring for the seized animals.
A judge is now asking them to help the animals former owner, Elizabeth Miera, make conditions at her property livable.
The society says she shouldn’t get the animals back and are asking those wanting to help for financial donations.
Miera is charged with 105 counts of animal cruelty.
