Family of man shot at marijuana compound files wrongful death lawsuit

RUIDOSO, N.M. (KRQE) – The family of a man shot to death at a marijuana compound in Lincoln County has filed a wrongful death lawsuit.

Chad Bailey was shot to death last year at the property near Ruidoso. The gun used to belong to Ruidoso attorney Mandy Denson, who co-owned the marijuana compound and who was with Bailey at the time of the shooting.

Back in May, the case was closed while the nature of death remained undetermined. Now his family is suing Denson, claiming evidence suggests she shot Bailey.

The suit asks for damages for pain and suffering, funeral expenses and lost earnings.
