Holloman AFB seeks residents input on proposed training flights

ALAMOGORDO, N.M. (KRQE) – Holloman Air Force Base is looking for the public’s input on allowing fighter jets to fly over more of New Mexico.

Last month, KRQE News 13 told you about residents objections to proposed training flights in the Elephant Butte area.

Base officials say they need that area to meet the training requirements of Holloman’s new F-16 squadron, relocating there from Utah.

They’re now planning to hold public meetings in several southern New Mexico communities to hear from residents about the proposal.
