Albuquerque bakery closing after legal battle with General Mills

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An Albuquerque bakery is closing after an expensive legal battle with General Mills.

Doughboy’s Bakery near Academy and Osuna had only been in business a couple of weeks when they received a letter from General Mills. It said Doughboy’s Bakery infringes on their trademarked character, the Pillsbury Doughboy.

The owners say the name change was a huge setback for their tiny business. The name and logo changes would have costed the shop around $15,000.
