Family of man killed after tank battery explosion sues

EDDY COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – The family of one of the people killed after a tank battery explosion in southern New Mexico is suing.

It happened last week near Carlsbad. The Eddy County Sheriff’s Office says it took about three hours to contain the blaze before three bodies were found.

Though the haven’t been identified, a Texas woman related to one of the deceased has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Caza Petroleum.

The Texas based company leased the property where the explosion happened. It’s still unclear what caused the explosion.
