US Marshals Service opens Farmington office

FARMINGTON, N.M. (KRQE) – Hundreds of fugitives are captured in the Four Corners area each year, and now a team of U.S. Marshals are being based there.

The U.S. Marshals Service has opened up an office in Farmington. It will serve as home base for deputy marshals and members of the Southwest Investigative Fugitive Team, which are members of other law enforcement agencies.

The Marshals Service says an average of 300 of the most wanted fugitives are captured in that region each year.
