ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Two bizarre and deadly incidents involving commercial trucks in New Mexico are under investigation.
Sunday night, a woman walking in the parking lot of the Pilot Truck Stop in Santa Rosa was struck and killed by a semi as it was trying to make a turn. The victim is identified as a 59-year-old woman from Texas.
Police have not said if that driver will face charges.
Also this weekend, 51-year-old Idalia Dominguez of Columbas died from injuries she suffered after being hit by a load that fell off a truck on State Road 9. Police say a tie down restraint failed, sending the load into Dominguez’s car traveling in the opposite direction last Monday.
The truck driver didn’t stop.
Police say the driver might have been unaware of what happened.
