Police: Two rumored threats at local high schools prompt investigations

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Rumors of threats at two Albuquerque high schools prompted Albuquerque Police Department to investigate.

APD officers were at Manzano high school Thursday morning. Parents said that the principal sent out a letter explaining that some disciplinary action was taken against a student, but they were hearing it was some type of threat.

Officials did confirm there was no shooting threat to the school.

Wednesday night APD also received information about another possible threat to Volcano Vista High School.

Police say they have identified a student allegedly involved and are working with the school and the student’s parents to address the situation.

They also say that there is no viable threat to the school.
