Albuquerque police questioned about misuse of national database

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Civilian Police Oversight Agency is raising questions about how well the Albuquerque Police Department looks into officer misuse of the National Crime Information Center database, the Albuquerque Journal reports.

The board’s director says it has seen at least three cases of officers accused of using it inappropriately. Departments can also have access taken away if too many officers abuse it.

APD says it sent out a memo on proper use to officers in Spring 2015. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
