Research suggests over medicating leads to weight gain in youths

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – New research shows over medicating your kids with antibiotics could make them more susceptible to weight gain. Researchers from John Hopkins University found at age 15, kids who had received antibiotics seven or more times during childhood, weighed about three pounds more than those who had never taken any. Some experts say if your doctor tells you that your child doesn’t need antibiotics, don’t ask for them.
