Prescribed burn planned on Santa Fe National Forest

SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – Fire managers on the Santa Fe National Forest are planning to begin the previously announced prescribed burn in the Santa Fe Watershed on the Española Ranger District on Sunday, September 27, 2015, if conditions are favorable. Smoke from the prescribed pile burn will be monitored to ensure that it meets the requirements of the New Mexico Environment Department Air Quality Bureau’s smoke management program.   Lingering smoke may be present for up to one week after ignitions are complete.
