Veterans Day Commemoration
a. Details: Each year Native veterans, family members, and community members gather at the IPCC to honor those who have served their country. The day’s program will include a flag-raising ceremony with honor songs, the presentation of dignitaries, and participation by the Tso Dzil Mount Taylor Color Guard Unit. The Kallestewa Dance Group of Zuni Pueblo will also offer traditional dances at 11am and 2pm.

Orangutan Awareness Day
a. Details: Orangutans face many threats in the wild, from habitat loss to poaching. Only two species remain in the world today; one is critically endangered while the other is listed as endangered. The good news is… YOU can help! Come learn about conservation efforts, and discover the fascinating natural history of the orangutan and other great apes. Visitors can help create enrichment items to be given to the Zoo’s orangutans. Learn how our actions matter when it comes to protecting one of our planet’s most intelligent primates.
