ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An investigation is underway after an officer-involved shooting occurred in the North Valley Sunday afternoon.
Sheriff Manual Gonzales says around 12:30 p.m. Saturday, deputies were called to Edith and Vineyard for a “disturbance.”
When they got to the scene, they found someone who had been stabbed. That person was taken to a hospital and treated.
Then, deputies found a person in the area with a knife and say that a deputy fired at least one round, hitting that person.
Witnesses on-scene tell KRQE News 13 they heard a woman screaming for help in the area before deputies arrived.
The Sheriff would not confirm if the person with the knife is believed to have injured the person with the stab wound.
However, he did say no suspects are at large and there is no threat to the public.
