SWAT situation in northeast Albuquerque resolved

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A SWAT situation near Comanche and Carlisle has now been resolved.

Officers were called out around 4 a.m. Tuesday to the Rock Creek apartment complex because of a domestic dispute.

Once officers arrived on scene they encountered a male subject who threatened them with a knife.

Police say they tased him, but it was not effective and the suspect ran back into his apartment.

The SWAT team was then called and surrounded the apartment.

Around 7 a.m. the male suspect surrendered and was taken into custody.

The woman involved is also reported to be okay.

Earlier Comanche was shut down in both directions between Lafayette Drive and Wellesley Drive but it has since been reopened.
