ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – APD responded to a report around 11:50 a.m. Saturday of an 11-year-old girl locked in a gun safe at the Costco on Eubank.

APD arrived on the scene as Costco personal were attempting to open the safe.

The Fire Department, Pop-a-Lock and a local safe store also came to assist.

A Costco employee successfully opened the safe at 12:01 p.m.

The 11-year-old was checked and cleared on scene.

No charges are pending due to the child stepping into the safe and closing the door behind her.
