Officer-involved shooting near 1st and Lomas

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The area of Lomas and 1st was shut down Saturday night due to an officer-involved shooting.

Albuquerque Police say they responded to the area Saturday evening after an individual was seen pointing a weapon at people.

They say a shot was fired by an officer at the scene, striking the suspect. The individual was then transported to the hospital, where his name and condition is unknown at this time.

The name of APD officer who shot the suspect has also not been released. Police say they are waiting on the officer’s statement on what happened.
