Police investigate shooting in northeast Albuquerque neighborhood

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) –Police are investigating a possible homicide in a quiet, northeast Albuquerque neighborhood.

Information is still limited at this time, but police say one man is dead from a gunshot wound.

Police were called to 13000 Cedarbrook, near Montgomery and Tramway. These parts of the street are still blocked off while police investigate the deadly shooting.

Officers say they arrived on Cedarbrook just before 6:30 a.m. to find a man dead from what they say appeared to be a gunshot wound.

The shooting was deemed a violent crimes call-out and investigators have been here ever since piecing together this puzzle.

KRQE News 13 talked to neighbors who say they heard the commotion, early Friday morning, but assumed the incident was on Tramway because this area is so peaceful and quiet.

At this time, police say they have no known suspects and say no one is in custody.

Police have yet to release the identity of the victim.

They hope to have a better idea regarding the circumstances of this shooting once the medical examiner performs an autopsy.
