BCSO: Suspect arrested after punching deputy, ramming into car

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office says two people were finally arrested after one of them punched a deputy and rammed into their car.

According to the BCSO, the situation began around noon Tuesday when a deputy spotted a suspicious vehicle near Prince Street and Rio Bravo Boulevard. BCSO says when the occupants of the vehicle spotted the deputy, they tried to leave the area, hitting a mailbox in the process.

When the deputy tried to make contact with the driver, they fled and hit the deputy’s arm. As BCSO pursued the vehicle, it rammed a deputy’s vehicle and hit another unoccupied one.

Two suspects were arrested after the vehicle was stopped in the 2nd Street and Bridge area.

BCSO says there are no outstanding suspects at this time. Two deputies sustained minor injuries.
