New Mexico lawmakers consider creating chile license plate

SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – New Mexico state lawmakers are considering a bill that promotes a special chile license plate.

Drivers can pay a $35 fee on top of registration to get one. A portion of that money will go to the Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum in Las Cruces to help fund educational programs.

The bill is sponsored by Rep. Cathrynn Brown of Carlsbad.
