Lobos Stajduhar and Gonzalez named preseason All Americans

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE)- College Baseball Newspaper has released its preseason All American selections for the 2017 season.

University of New Mexico junior third baseman Carl Stajduhar is a first team All American selection by CBN. Stajduhar hit .331 last season with a team high 18 homers. He also had 66 RBIs along with 17 doubles and 51 runs.

Stajduhar is the reigning Mountain West Player of the Year and has a consecutive starts streak of 108 games. He is tied for eighth longest in program history. Another Lobo junior, Luis Gonzales, is a CBN third team selection as a utility player.

Gonzalez had the Lobos best batting average last season at .381. He had 21 doubles, five triples, 63 runs and 18 stolen bases to go along with six home runs and 48 RBI. The Lobos start the season February 17 when they host Binghampton.
