John’s Monday Afternoon Forecast

Quiet start to the week...

It’s a chilly and sunny start to the week. Temperatures are going to continue to warm up, especially across the east through Wednesday. Winter arrives early Wednesday morning, and things will immediately get more interesting for the holiday weekend.

The first of two storms will roll through the state Thursday into Friday. This storm is coming from the southwest, so it will be a warmer storm, providing mainly rain chances favoring southern New Mexico. Snow will be limited to the high terrain. That storm clears out Friday night.

Another storm moves in Saturday evening. We will see rain and snow break out across the western edge of the state during the evening, expanding to central sections overnight. With a cold blast of air entering the state, it’s entirely possible that Albuquerque could be waking up to snowfall Christmas morning. The storm will clear out late Sunday night.
