Santa Claus visits children at Presbyterian Hospital

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Santa gave his reindeer a break Friday and took a helicopter to visit kids at Presbyterian Hospital.

Patients and their families gathered at the landing spot to greet Santa and welcome him to New Mexico. The kids even got to sit on his lap telling him what they want for Christmas.

Organizers say it’s an emotional experience for them as well as the patients and their families.

“They are experiencing joy at one of the most stressful times of the season…of the year,” said Rebecca Armstrong, Presbyterian Hospital.

Santa also made the rounds to children who couldn’t make it down to the lobby to meet him. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
