Snow fall, high winds expected across New Mexico

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Most of the state can expect cold weather, snow and high winds going into the weekend.

Southwestern Colorado and the northern mountains in New Mexico are likely to see up to one foot of snow around Taos and Colfax counties Friday and Saturday. San Juan Mountains outside of Chama can also expect heavy snow fall.

For the Albuquerque metro area, wind advisories are in effect for Friday with gusts up to 55 mph. Winds could reach up to or more than 70 mph across the eastern part of the state.
