Bowl Week Festivities: Playing the “Feud”

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Thursday evening The Gildan New Mexico Bowl held a dinner and a game for the teams competing in the bowl game on Saturday. It was their version of the “Family Feud,” and the survey says, it was a good time.

“Oh man I think that I had all the points, I think everything that I said was right,” said University of New Mexico RB Teriyon Gipson.

It was a heated battle between both teams at the Albuquerque Convention Center, and in the end, it would be the Roadrunners topping the Lobos 2 games to 1.

“It was crazy it was great, those guys over there were hooping and hollering and we were pretty much doing the same thing,” said Gipson. “It’s kinda like how it’s going to be on Saturday. Guys with a lot of emotion and ready to win.”

The 2016 Gildan New Mexico Bowl is now closing in and the Lobos are excited, focused and ready to come out with their first bowl victory since 2007.

“The closer and closer it gets the more nervous and anxious you get, you just ready to go by now, and if we follow the game plan everything should go smoothly,” said Gipson.

The Gildan New Mexico Bowl Kicks off Saturday at University Stadium at 12 p.m. The game will also start off the bowl season with a 12 p.m. kickoff.
