Local organizations gear up for holiday pet adoption

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – It’s a holiday event geared towards pet lovers.

The City of Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department, Watermelon Mountain Ranch and PetSmart stores will participate in the Home for the Holiday pet adoption.

Deputy Director for the Animal Welfare Department, Paul Caster, along with Marketing Manager of Watermelon Mountain Ranch Sara Garrigan, joined KRQE This Morning Team to discuss the upcoming event. Watch above.

Home for the Holiday is three day event that will take place at the Coors PetSmart on Friday, December 16 to December 18.

On December 17, residents are encouraged to sign up their pets for the Santa Paws & Holiday contest and take a photo with Santa. There is a $5 registration fee for all dog contestants.
