Albuquerque carjacker gets more time behind bars for separate incident

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The carjacker who jumped into a man’s truck and took off with kids still inside is facing even more time behind bars, now in a different case.

Last summer, Carlos Henry led police on a chase after they tried to pull him over.

He crashed that car, then jumped into a truck at the 7-11 on Yale and Ave Cesar Chavez. Inside were two teens.

Henry eventually crashed the truck in Nob Hill. A judge sentenced him to nine years in that case.

Wednesday, Henry pleaded guilty to several changes in a different case a week before that incident involving battery against a household member.

That woman addressed the court Wednesday morning.

“I can’t even live a daily life without having fear,” she said. “I wish that he would seek the help that he gets, and I pray for him going forward in his future that he doesn’t do this to anybody else ’cause it’s not right.”

The judge sentenced Henry to an additional four years to be served consecutively with the nine years he’s already serving. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
