Hobbs police investigate shooting

HOBBS, N.M. (KRQE) – Police in Hobbs are investigating after they say two men were shot Friday afternoon.

Police say it happened at about 4:30 p.m. in the area of Lovington Highway and Silver Dr.

Officers say they responded following reports of gunshots in the area, but when they arrived they were unable to locate any victims.

Shortly after, police say 26-year-old Raul Silva and 32-year-old Diego Garcia arrived at Lea Regional Hospital in Hobbs suffering from gunshot wounds.

Police say Silva remains in stable condition, while Garcia who was airlifted to Lubbock remains in critical but stable condition.

Detectives are currently investigating.
