ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – If you plan to take the bus down Central anytime soon, you’ll get a free ride.

Starting Saturday, the city will waive the bus fee all day on weekends. Then, on weekdays, people can ride free from 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

It’s all part of a pilot project to help support and promote businesses in the area during the ART construction.

“We really encourage people to get out of their cars and ride the bus. And I think this is one way we can gauge on how this project will be a benefit to those businesses owners,” said City Councilor Ken Sanchez.

The pilot project will run through January 8 to find out which routes apply, click here.
