Police search for caregivers accused of scamming 95-year-old Santa Fe man

SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – The search continues for a Santa Fe couple accused of ripping off the elderly military vet they were supposed to be caring for.

Police say 69-year-old Dian Zeemin and 62-year-old Joe Rosko were supposed to help 95-year-old Dennis Ferk with his finances.

Instead, they’re accused of opening up a dozen credit cards under his name, maxing them out to a tune of $340 thousand. And it wasn’t just his money they’re accused of taking, Ferk also says they abused him verbally and physically.

During an interview with Fox earlier this year, Ferks said he was fearful knowing they were still out there.

“I’m afraid of them and I am trying to be very careful to be clear of them and if I ever saw them I’d drive away. Get away as quickly as possible,” said Ferk.

Santa Fe police now believe the couple has been traveling throughout New Mexico and Colorado in a small Class C motor home. And have been known to stop at campgrounds, RV parks and casinos along the way.

If you have any information, you’re asked to call police.
