A storm system will close in on New Mexico over the next 24 hours. Clouds will increase across the state on Friday and winds will rip in the metro area with gusts up to 45 mph. A cold front over the eastern portion of the state and the storm system passing just to our south on Saturday will set the stage for snow over the southern mountains and along the east slope’s of the northern mountains. Snow amounts will be heaviest of the Sacramento mountains while snow amounts should be light over the northern mountains. Here in the Albuquerque area will have the chance to see if you scattered showers in the form of snow on Saturday. Look for clearing skies on Sunday.
