Lobo women fall at NMSU and drop third straight game

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Lobo Women’s basketball team suffered their third straight defeat Wednesday night in a 77-70 loss at New Mexico State.

Before leaving for the trip Lobos Head Coach Mike Bradbury said his team would face a different Aggies team then they did in Albuquerque where the Lobos won by 29 points. Lobos guard Cherise Beynon lead the team in scoring with 22 points and eight rebounds.

Lobos center Richelle Van Der Keijl scored 21 points and also pulled down eight rebounds. Tamera William led all scorers, pouring in 23 points for the Aggies. The Aggies have now won four of the last five games in the rivalry. With the loss the Lobos dropped to 2-4 on the season while the Aggies improved to 5-2. The Lobos will host SMU Saturday.
