John’s Wednesday Afternoon Forecast

A short break from snow...

forecast

We will see a break from the wind and snow today and Thursday. But it will definitely be cold, despite plenty of sunshine. Clear skies overnight will allow temperatures to plummet well below freezing.

The next storm system arrives Friday, but the track currently takes it south of the state. The southern tier of New Mexico will benefit the most with scattered snow showers Friday into early Saturday. The storm system will help pull a back door cold front into the east, allowing temperatures to drop Friday. If the storm system makes it close enough to the state, we could see that colder air invade the Rio Grande Valley by Saturday.

The storm will clear out early this weekend, making for more sunshine Saturday afternoon and Sunday. Temperatures will be on the cold side through at least early next week.
