New Mexicans honored for making state great


ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Five New Mexicans were honored today for making the state a better place to live

All were named the 2016 New Mexico True Heroes.

Nicole Chavez-Lucero, the mother of Jaydon Chavez-Silver was honored for her work to fight crime; Michelle and Clay Schroff for their work to serve children in need; U.S. Air Force veteran Kenneth Riege for his work to help fellow veterans; and Dr. Kathleen Ramsay for her work to help animals at the New Mexico Wildlife Center.

“Love never fails, and I thank these amazing heroes for living their lives that way, never expecting anything in return,” said Governor Susana Martinez.
