Albuquerque military family gifted new roof

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An Albuquerque military family has a new roof over their head.

Goodrich Roofing and Owens Corning Roofing donated all the materials and labor to build a brand new roof for specialist Leo Tafoya.

He joined the military at the age of 35 to fulfill his lifelong goal of being in the U.S. Army.

Tafoya was the winner of Owens’ roof deployment project.

His roof had several leaks but this new roof should last 30 years.

“Christmas I guess came early for us which is nice you know, nice for the family,” said Tafoya.

Earlier this year, Goodrich helped a teacher get a new roof and they are currently looking for a police officer to help. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
