John’s Monday Afternoon Forecast

Another round of snow...

forecast

We’re getting another break from the snow this afternoon before the third and final round from this winter storm moves in tonight. The north and west will be favored with this last round, with the west and southwest facing slopes favored for the most snowfall. Winter Weather Advisories are in place across the northwest and northern mountains, while Winter Storm Warnings remain in place for the San Juans of Colorado. It will remain windy this afternoon, especially across the east.

As the snow works through this evening and overnight, even the Albuquerque metro area will have a shot at seeing a couple of snow showers. Light accumulations of a dusting to an inch is all that is expected.

The snow will mostly taper off early Tuesday morning. But the coldest air will settle in. Afternoon highs will be 10° – 20° below average, with Albuquerque stuck in the upper 30s, and much of the north remaining below freezing under mostly sunny skies.

Another storm is set to move toward the state late this week and into the weekend bringing yet another shot at showers across the state.
