Albuquerque Public Schools’ typo turns into tradition

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – It’s a typo turned tradition and it’s all to help the community “Do Something Great.”

Albuquerque Public Schools (APS) calendar now designates the first Monday after Thanksgiving as November 38th, a typo that turned in to an opportunity to celebrate kindness and giving.

Due to the fact that the first Monday falls in the midst of the holiday season, APS feels that staff, families and students are especially generous this time of year.

APS Communications Director, Johanna King, joined KRQE’s This Morning team to discuss the effort. Watch above.

Monday, November 28th, designated November 38th, APS is encouraging the community to post pictures and descriptions of generous acts to social media sites using the hashtag #Nov38.

Those who are not on social media can still join in on the fun and kindness by emailing pictures and stories to APS’s Communication Office
