Lobo Men’s Basketball finishes Wooden Legacy Tournament with a loss

LOS ANGELES, CA (KRQE)- Lobo Men’s Basketball took on Dayton trying to finish in fifth in this year’s Wooden Legacy Basketball tournament. They went on to lose in that Sunday afternoon game 64-57.

They got off to a slow start not getting their first field goal until 6 minutes into the game. They went on to find a groove in the 2nd half, with Tim Williams leading the charge. He finished with 16 points for the Lobos, even giving UNM a lead late in the 2nd half, but it wouldn’t be enough.

Elijah Brown also finished with 16 points, and freshman Dameon Jefferson was a spark off the bench with 9 points. Early turnovers killed the Lobos, as they had 12 at the end of the first half. Late turnovers would also seal the Lobos fate as they finished with 16.

They now return home 4-2 on the season hosting Abilene Christian in the 50th anniversary of the pit game. That matchup is on Wednesday and tips off at 7 pm.
