John’s Sunday Morning Forecast

More winter weather ahead...

forecast

Snow will continue across the northern high terrain for a good part of the day. Lower elevations will see a break from the showers through Sunday morning and afternoon, but another round of scattered showers will return for the evening and overnight. This time, expect more mixed precipitation and light snow. Areas like the Rio Grande Valley are not expected to see accumulating snow. That will remain over the Northern Mountains where up to a foot total is possible through Monday.

Winds will also be an issue late Sunday morning and into the early afternoon. Expect gusts up to 55 mph across eastern New Mexico where Wind Advisories are in place. Over the Northern Mountains, the high winds will lead to blowing snow causing visibility issues.

The storm clears out Tuesday, but in its wake is much colder air. Albuquerque will struggle to reach 40° while parts of the north will struggle to even reach the freezing mark of 32°.
