ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Craig Neal and his University of New Mexico basketball team bounced back from defeat Friday to beat Cal State Northridge 105-89. Lobos forward Tim Williams and guard Elijah Brown led the Lobos in scoring with 21 points each. Four Lobos scored in double figures with Center Obij Aget chipping in 16 points.
Guard Sam Logwood had 13 points. Darin Johnson led Cal State Northridge with 22. The Lobos lost the battle of the boards, getting out rebounded 31-23. From the field the Lobos shot nearly 65 percent and was over 80 percent at the free throw line. Northridge, led by former New Mexico State Aggies coach Reggie Theus, shot 51.8 percent from the field and 82.8 percent from the free throw line.
With the win the Lobos advanced to the fifth place game of the Legacy Wooden Classic and will play Dayton at noon Mountain Time on Sunday. The game will be televised on ESPN U.
