Salvation Army kicks off their annual Red Kettle campaign

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – You’ll start hearing the sounds of bells ringing around New Mexico.

The Salvation Army pulled out their red kettles and dusted them off Friday for another fundraising season.

The Red Kettle Fundraiser is the biggest and most important fundraiser for the Salvation Army all year.

“If it were not for volunteers and donors we would not be able to help the less fortunate within our communities and so don’t forget, whenever you see a kettle, donate to the kettle. Whenever you see an angel tag, grab an angel tag and buy a gift,” said Jessica Doria, The Salvation Army.

All of the money raised through the Red Kettle campaign will provide meals and necessities to families and people in need. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
