Rio Rancho McDonald’s hands out Thanksgiving meals

RIO RANCHO, N.M. (KRQE) – A McDonald’s in Rio Rancho opened its doors to anyone who wanted a Thanksgiving meal.

For the 22nd year McDonalds and St. Felix Pantry teamed up to serve meals to anyone who came in for one. Some who showed up to eat said it was a time to be around some friendly people to spread the love of the Thanksgiving holiday.

Along the serving line were the Rio Rancho Police Chief and the Rio Rancho Mayor who say it’s an honor to be there.

“There’s so many people that volunteer their time here and you know as mayor to join this is absolutely wonderful,” said Rio Rancho Mayor Greg Hull.

They expected to serve more than 700 people Thursday. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
