ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE)– There is still a chance at a 3-way tie in the mountain division. If Air Force beats Boise State on Friday and if the Lobos end their regular season with a win over Wyoming, it could happen.
The Lobos are coming off a tough loss to Colorado State last week, but still have a chance at an eight win season, which hasn’t been done since that 2007 season.
Wyoming is definitely one of the hottest teams in college football, as they caught fire this season out of nowhere.
The 7-4 overall and 5-2 Conference play Lobos hope to also end their regular season for the senior core. It will be senior night at University Stadium on Saturday night.
“Let’s face it man, we got our butt whipped the other night, so I have a bunch of guys who are just happy and jumping around, okay coach, that’s all false that is BS,” said UNM Head Football Coach Bob Davie. “I mean this is the real world. By Saturday night at 8:21 now I hope I can answer your question that all those guys look at ya and say we are all in, we are all in it together, we are going to go fight our butt off and we are going to win this game for our seniors.”
The Lobos and Cowboys will kick off at 8:15 p.m. on Saturday. That game will also be shown on ESPN.
