Local shop recognized as growing small business

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – If you’re headed out on Black Friday the city is encouraging you to shop local.

Small Business Saturday was founded in 2010 as a nationwide effort to support small businesses.

Wednesday, the National Federation of Independent Businesses recognized local bakery Cake Fetish for their growing business.

They say supporting local really benefits the state.

“Small business really is the economic engine of New Mexico. And so what we can do to fuel that and keep it going is very important,” said Minda McGonagle, State Director, NFIB.

Cake Fetish also received a proclamation from the governor.
