New Mexico State Parks offers Black Friday free admission

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Black Friday isn’t just for fighting the crowds for the best deals, this year local parks are hoping New Mexicans opt to go outside.

New Mexico State Parks, naturally, wants everyone to get outside to enjoy the natural resources around them. This year, they have teamed up with with REI and the National Association of State Parks Directors organization to offer a free day at any New Mexico State Park.

New Mexico State Parks Public Relations Coordinator, Christina Cordova, joined KRQE’s This Morning team to discuss the #OptOutside event.

New Mexico State Parks is asking that visitors who experience the #OptOutside event to tag them and use hashtags #NMTrueParkFriday and REI’s # OptOutside when posting their outdoor pictures.

The $5 day use park fee will be waived Friday, November 25th at all New Mexico State Parks
