ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Science isn’t always the most popular subject, but there’s one museum trying to change that.
Explora, a museum described as part science center and part kids museum, joined KRQE’s This Morning team to demonstrate a fun, “Cool Science” experiment.
This week, Randy Pedro and Allison Brody with Explora demonstrated a fun experiment involving Gyroscopic Motion. Watch above.
Gyroscopes provide stability or assist navigation systems, auto pilots, and stabilizers on boats and ships. Gyroscopes spin while balanced on a surface smaller than the size of a pencil tip or on a string.
Explora will be closed Thanksgiving Day, but will reopen Friday, November 25th.
The museum will be celebrating Giving Tuesday, an international holiday of giving. Giving Tuesday will take place on Tuesday, November 29th. Gifts will be accepted to help support the great programs and exhibits Explora has to offer.
Pedro also stayed with the team to talk about the Museum Collaborative Council, a non-profit educational forum for professional exchange. Watch above for more details or visit their website.
