Thanksgiving marks the first winter holiday and this week, your children may have two days, three days or even five days off. Eek! So what are we going to do with them? (After all, you can only make so many pinecone turkeys.) The answer, according to parenting correspondent Lexi Petronis from On The Rocks is … cleaning.

With a little motivation, like the promise of new toys or making money, you can get your kids in on the fall cleaning action. Make it an annual tradition, and then it won’t seem like such a task and more like a family event, in getting ready for the holidays.
